  • A heterogeneous dynamic model for the production of biodiesel was developed, considering two liquid phases.

  • The model considers six consecutive and reversible reactions in a batch reactor, where transesterification occurs.

  • Equations in the model describe the reactions in the drops surface and predict the diminished of the radius drops.

  • Results show that the model successfully predicts the concentration profile of triglyceride, alcohol and biodiesel in time.

  • The six kinetic constants where obtained by parameter estimation.
