A heterogeneous dynamic model for the production of biodiesel was developed, considering two liquid phases.
The model considers six consecutive and reversible reactions in a batch reactor, where transesterification occurs.
Equations in the model describe the reactions in the drops surface and predict the diminished of the radius drops.
Results show that the model successfully predicts the concentration profile of triglyceride, alcohol and biodiesel in time.
The six kinetic constants where obtained by parameter estimation.
